Truth House Coffee Headquarters and Cafe by Haldane Martin in South Africa’s Cape Town is situated within a stripped back warehouse featuring original cast iron pillars, Oregon pine roof trusses and floors and original stone and brick walls.
These materials are complimented with the use of timber, leather, raw steel, brass and copper finishes to continue the patina aged character.
“We immediately came up with steampunk as an appropriate conceptual reference, as both coffee roasters and espresso machines display elements of romantic, steam powered technology,” explains the designer.
Furniture is predominantly designed by Haldane Martin with some vintage pieces and onsite salvaged materials used too. The large coffee Roaster acts as the heart of the space and strongly influences the design direction taken from the ethos of Truth coffee which is ‘We roast coffee. Properly’.
