We designed the light refurbishment of Black & Blue’s Waterloo restaurant, one of the collections four London steak and burger restaurants located directly opposite one of Europe’s busiest train stations.
We worked with several pre-existing features from the original space that promoted its warm character, such as the exposed brickwork and marble table-tops in the booth seating.
Applying a freshness to the space, we designed white brick bond tiling with red accents on the walls and matching red leather upholstered bar stools, chairs and banquettes. On the white-tiled walls, we rearranged new and existing artwork in frames of varying sizes, depicting black and white scenes of London and the surrounding area.
Industrial style lighting was placed throughout the restaurant: large brushed steel lights at the bar, wall lights with glass shades installed at each booth and LED strip lighting to illuminate the vast selection of spirit bottles at the 14-seat bar.
Maximising the limited storage space for kitchen supplies, bottle storage to the mezzanine level was introduced with the use of high-level, pulled plate wire mesh screens and faux timber boxes to create a more uniform and orderly vista from the floor below.
Applying a freshness to the space, we designed white brick bond tiling with red accents on the walls and matching red leather upholstered seating.
'I am consistently delighted with the work produced by the designers at B3. They’ve listened to what we’ve said about each of our restaurants and created a look that enhances each one’s unique offer. I love the way they manage to create these amazing looks and still manage to maximise cover numbers and create spaces that are easy to operate. Every time we have used B3 to design one of our restaurants we have seen an increase in sales.'
