Ritz-Carlton Deák Street Kitchen Brand Identity, Budapest

We worked with Marriott to name the standalone restaurant.

Our in-house illustration team illustrated the menus.

We were approached by the Ritz Carlton Budapest to design the interior and brand identity of their Food and Beverage offers during the Marriott hotel’s refurbishment.

After assessing the needs of the hotel, it was identified that a strong standalone restaurant and a lounge café needed to be established. We worked with the client to name the standalone restaurant, creating a unique concept that felt separate from the hotel. Seeping the new restaurant into its community, Deák Street was selected due to it being the road name which the new restaurant sits on.

The client’s brief was for the restaurant to have an independent and local feel, with emphasis on wine and grill. We used their extensive Hungarian focused wine list as inspiration for our brand identity. Wine and wine labelling were brought into the branding and interior details.

Taking inspiration from the local history, we brought this inside the restaurant through curated art and traditional brand design. The logo features the year the restaurant was opened, 2016. We combined this modern indicator with a traditional logo aesthetic. Materials were chosen for their substantial and nostalgic feel, including a textured ‘butcher like’ paper, wooden clipboards with heavy metallic clips.

The menus communicated the location and source of the F&B.
