Harry’s is a proud family-run restaurant in Exeter, which focuses on local ingredients. B3 designed the refurbishment of the 71 cover restaurant and bar.
Family warmth is at the heart of Harry’s Restaurant and it was important to us that we keep this exemplary charm whilst introducing modern touches into the restaurant, to ensure that Harry’s felt fresh, timeless and inviting. Our overall look & feel was inspired by the impressive architecture and materials of the existing building. We created a design concept that was sympathetic to the existing shell while adding a contemporary sleek feel.
The restaurant design centres around comfort, with handsome leather banquettes and warm timbers tonnes. Classic period tiles and wall lights with aged brass polished fittings create a timeless look. We introduced an illuminated wine display into the restaurant, promoting a classic and robust atmosphere. The wine display and overhead gantry both have aged brass touches. Celebrating the city’s heritage we curated historical imagery in contemporary frames throughout the restaurant.
We designed a stained glass configuration with a floral-geometric-pattern and Harry’s medallion.
The stained glass was used to divide the space through it being incorporated into the booth seating, kitchen divider wall and wind lobby.
