In May 2015, The Regents Park Open Air Theatre reopened its doors for a new season. Our brief from the client was to readdress the function and impact of the F&B offers at the open-air theatre.
We redesigned the existing bar and café offerings and converted the existing merchandise area into a small kitchen and dispense bar. These changes maximised service potential and created a better overall experience for guests.
We designed a hardwearing concrete bar top which sits atop the reclaimed timber bar with mild steel detailing. Industrial lighting was installed throughout. These industrial choices complement the architecture of the theatre, which is softened by the surrounding park.
The Look & Feel is casual, with materials chosen for their raw and organic qualities and down-to-earth furniture.
We incorporated flexibility into our design, including clamp-on lights that can be directed to illuminate new promotions or key products. Sturdy scaffold board shelves, with mild steel trims, line the back wall and are arranged at different heights to change the pace of VM display. The F&B offer is displayed via a UV bonded glass box and oak timber boards.
We addressed the queuing system, optimising the layout of the café counter and equipment to ensure fast and easy service.
